Shrouded in darkness

through the night and day

wallowing in hopelessness

a cruel price to pay

Dark lonely thoughts

creep in with depression

wrap their arms around me

my soul is in recession

I fold in mental anguish

crumple with the pain

and silently I scream

as the fear kicks in again

The blackness encompasses

my every waking thought

I'm lost in that darknes

trapped, it's got me caught

Where is the light

at the long tunnels end?

I need to reach it very soon

or my soul will never mend

The darkness is receeding

my pathway is now clear

I've come out the other side

but I still can't shake the fear.
